I have received some questions from folks who want to sign up to receive blog updates but do not know where to start. I am going to post their questions here, hoping that someone smarter than I (Jaimie!) can help.
Question #1
i have never used a blog. i like the idea for sona. my question. i am a comcast user. i don't google or use yahoo. if i fill out the google thing, will i get updates and stuff on comcast. that is will it appear on my comcast email or do i have to go somewhere to get these blog updates.
Question #2

Hello All,
I'll try to be brief here and not go into too much detail. Please feel free to post follow-up comments with additional questions and I will try to answer them.
It appears that Thomas will have to initiate the email notifications in his Blogger setup for the blog. Blogger does give individual users the option to receive email notification of future comments posted to a particular post if a user is entering a comment, but I believe that is only on the BETA version and I don't know which version we are using for the blog.
The most common way to keep up on blogs and new posts is to use a blog or RSS reader such as Google Reader or MyYahoo. The little orange symbol at the top of this blog post is for RSS. If you have a custom Google, Yahoo, or other page you can easily add an RSS feed to that page to show new blog posts for any blogs you are subscibed to. Alternatively, you can download a reader for managing the blogs that you subscribe to. either method will show you new posts to the blog, although both require you open the application or visit the website in order to see the new posts.
It is less convenient to have to open another application like a reader or have to remember to visit another page to stay on top of your blogs. I have found that once I started subscribing to blogs that there are so many interesting blogs out there I need a reader just to keep track of them. I used to use an RSS feed, but it quickly got to be too much.
It looks like the way to ease into this will require Thomas and not each of you to do the work and configure Blogger to send out the email notifications. The only problem with that is that some of us may not want email notifications and Thomas will have to keep track or only add those that do.
